Clusters of Excellence

As one of the most important research universities in Germany, the University of Bonn has been able to call six clusters of excellence its own since January 2019 - more than any other university in the country. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences is involved in four of these clusters (twice in a leading role).

Research in the Hausdorff Center for Mathematics (HCM) ranges from pure and applied mathematics to mathematically orientated research in economics as well as interdisciplinary research.

The ImmunoSensation2 Cluster of Excellence is dedicated to the study of innate immunity beyond the boundaries of classical immunology.
